Covid-19 Update

Encounter Maria Island – Cease of Service Statement

Encounter Maria Island would like to update you on the evolving Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. During these challenging times, our thoughts are with those who have been affected by this unprecedented event. We thank and appreciate the healthcare workers, local communities, and governments who are working to help contain this virus.

As always, the health, safety and wellbeing of our passengers and crew is our highest priority. Following the advice from government regulations and the world health organisation, we will be closing our service until further notice.

Encounter Maria Island is progressively contacting affected customers. This may take some time and we appreciate your patience. If you have an inquiry, where possible, please contact Encounter Maria Island by emailing rather than by phone.

Encounter Maria Island is bound by our terms and conditions, however in these difficult times, we are doing our best to provide alternatives that stays fair to consumers and benefits all parties.

All cancelled bookings will be transferred into a credit note valid for 1 year from the original date of travel and we have also waived our restrictions on transferring credit notes to others. If your circumstances prevent you from using this credit note within 1 year, please let us know when we contact you.

As travel has been cancelled by government restrictions, this impacts the customers’ rights under the consumer guarantees. If you are unsure of your consumer rights or are unhappy with any options provided, we recommend you refer to the ACCC website.

As you would be aware, COVID-19 has had an enormous impact on the travel industry around the world. We support and understand the measures taken to put public health and safety first; however the escalating government-imposed restrictions are significantly impacting us and all travel and tourism businesses.

Nevertheless, this will not last forever and we are looking forward to seeing you all back in Tasmania to Encounter Maria Island!
